Foolproof security during cricket matches
LAHORE:DIG (Operations) Muhammad Faisal Kamran Monday said Lahore Police are fully prepared to provide foolproof security during cricket matches and other events.
Talking to reporters at Liberty Roundabout, the DIG said this time security has been enhanced for game between South Africa and New Zealand and over 5,500 cops are performing security duties at Gaddafi Stadium. He said the best security measures will be ensured during upcoming Champions Trophy. He said cricket spectators are being provided with a four-layered security system.
He said 229 female police officers are deployed to check female attendees. He said ICC security team is satisfied with the measures taken for the Trilateral Cricket Series, and the final security plan for the Champions Trophy is currently being finalised. DIG Operations Faisal Kamran, along with SSP Operations Tasawwur Iqbal and other officers remained in field. The DIG inspected the security arrangements around Gaddafi Stadium.
Meanwhile, DIG Operations M Faisal Kamran Monday conducted an open court and listened to the issues of the visitors. On the occasion, he said open courts were being held daily at the divisional level, allowing citizens to voice their concerns. Her also reviewed security arrangements for the New Zealand vs. South Africa cricket match.
