Judicial officers in KP receive training in arbitration
PESHAWAR: The judicial officers from across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa received specialized training on arbitration.
The one-day workshop, organised by the International Mediation and Arbitration Centre (IMAC) in collaboration with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Judicial Academy, was aimed at equipping judges with essential skills to expedite the resolution of commercial and civil disputes, said a communique.
Renowned legal experts led the training, offering insights into best practices, international arbitration standards, and the evolving legal framework governing arbitration in Pakistan. The initiative underscored the growing emphasis on ADR as an efficient and cost-effective alternative to traditional litigation.
The event’s concluding ceremony was attended by Ikhtiar Khan, registrar of the Peshawar High Court, who praised the Ministry of Law & Justice and IMAC for their efforts in strengthening arbitration practices in the province. He highlighted that the training brought valuable learning opportunities to judicial officers from all districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, ensuring broad representation and impact.Aisha Rasool, senior Consultant at the Ministry of Law & Justice, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to institutionalizing mediation and arbitration.
