Research studies conducted by different national and intentional organizations indicate that high levels of discrimination persist in Pakistan against certain groups. This includes differently-abled persons, women and girls, sectarian and religious minorities. The Constitution of Pakistan prohibits discrimination based on religion and provides for freedom of conscience, religion, belief, and thought.
Article 25 of the constitution provides for equality before the law and entitlement of equal protection of law. The relevant national, international educational and human rights organizations must promote social justice and respect and foster empathy and tolerance in society.
