PHC grants protective bail to PTI leaders
PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Wednesday granted protective bail to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader and former Punjab minister Jamal Nasir Cheema, as well as PTI’s female leader Seemabia Tahir.
The court directed the PTI leaders to approach the respective high courts for details of cases registered against them. The court also barred the authorities from arresting them.A two-member bench comprising Chief Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim and Justice Abdul Fayyaz heard the protective bail plea of former provincial minister Jamal Nasir Cheema.
His counsel, Alam Khan, informed the court that his client had cases registered against him in Punjab and sought details of the charges. The court granted Cheema protective bail until February 24 and directed him to approach the relevant high court for case details.
