Trouble with the stamp
In 2024, I sold my old car and bought a new one. During the registration process, the documents are verified by the manufacturer. But the verification stamp I got with my old car is very strange, starting off with ‘unofficial and without prejudice’ and proclaiming that the manufacturer takes no responsibility or liability. The excise and taxation authority has objected to this stamp and has refused to transfer the vehicle to the name of the new owner. I have come to know that a number of others are also suffering because of such stamps.
I have contacted the manufacturer via email, but someone from their public relations office called me and very bluntly told me to go to court against the excise and taxation authorities and also make the manufacturer a party. That is a very unprofessional response. It has been almost seven months since me and the new owner have been trying to get the vehicle transferred. I would like to request the authorities to take notice of this abuse.
