ISLAMABAD: Bangladesh leader Dr Muhammad Yunus expressed hope that Pakistan and his country would enhance relations in every walk of life, and the all-round relations improvement would also cover economic and trade sectors.
He was talking to Pakistan’s Finance and Revenue Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb in Swiss tourist resort Devos where the two were recently together to attend the World Economic Forum (WEF).
Noble Laureate Dr Yunus and Aurangzeb are former bankers. They also had exchange of views about banking sector in the two countries. The Bangladesh leader established Gramin Bank for the needy in his country that changed the fate of millions poorest of the poor there.
In a brief chat with The News here at the Parliament House on Thursday, Muhammad Aurangzeb said: “We both have banking background and we shared thoughts on how to use the sector for the common good of our people in the best way.”
The finance minister parried the question regarding possibilities of experimenting Gramin like banking in Pakistan. He termed the meeting with Dr Yunus very pleasant, positive and beneficial. He reminded that more exchanges of high-level delegations between the two countries would take place in days to come.
