New system made to buy hospital drugs
LAHORE:The Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education Department has made an important change in the local purchase system of medicines in government teaching hospitals.
Now no medicine can be purchased until it is exhausted from the stock available in the hospital. It was informed in a briefing on the HIMS system that during the current financial year, medicines worth 73 million were purchased through local purchase in government teaching hospitals of the province that were also in stock. Secretary Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education Department Azmat Mahmood directed PITB to immediately make necessary changes in the software and said that the implementation should be started by making changes in the software immediately. Despite the presence of stock, the MS concerned will be responsible for making local purchase.
