Quake registers magnitude of 3.7 on Richter scale, with depth of 19 kilometres beneath surface

QUETTA: Tremors of a mild earthquake were felt in Balochistan’s capital city of Quetta and its surrounding areas on Monday evening, stirring brief panic among residents.

According to Seismological Centre, the earthquake struck at 6:01 PM. The quake registered a magnitude of 3.7 on the Richter scale, with a depth of 19 kilometers beneath the surface. Its epicenter was pinpointed 19 kilometers west of Quetta. There were no reports of casualties or property damage, however, the authorities urged the residents to remain cautious in case of aftershocks.
