A young man and a teenage girl were shot dead in a house in Malir’s Rafa-e-Aam Society in what police suspect to be an honor killing.
Following the incident, police and rescuers reached the property and found the bodies on the upper floor of a house. The bodies were taken to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre. The deceased woman has been identified as 18-year-old Fatima, daughter of Azhar, while the identity of the male victim, estimated to be around 20 years old, is yet to be confirmed.
Police stated that the man had come to meet the woman at her house, and her father allegedly caught them together. Enraged, he reportedly shot both of them. The suspect, Azhar, has been arrested, and a pistol suspected to be the murder weapon was recovered from him. Police also recovered two bullet casings from the scene. Both victims were shot in the head. Police said the suspect had two children, and the girl had recently discontinued her education. A case has been registered while further investigations are underway.
