KARACHI: The upgradation work at National Stadium Karachi is progressing steadily and nearing completion as it has entered in the final stages. The officials of the PCB and engineers at the project claimed that the construction work would be completed by January 31.
In a media briefing on Monday, Arshad Khan General Manager of the National Stadium and Project Manager Muhammad Bilal Chauhan assured timely completion of the development work during a brief visit by print and electronic media persons.
The National Stadium will host for three matches of the event.
The both officials informed the media that dressing rooms on the second floor are almost complete, while 24 hospitality boxes at the third and fourth floors, Chairman’s Box and Admin Block on the fifth floor are also in the final stages.
Arshad said that technological upgrades are also a major part of renovation project. Bilal said a 10-foot spiked iron fence is being installed around the ground to enhance security and improve accessibility.
Moreover, parking facility would accommodate up to 2,700 vehicles. The engineering officials of the project expressed optimism that they would hand over the stadium to its management till January 31.
