LAHORE : Inspector General of Police (IGP), Punjab, Dr Usman Anwar Saturday released more than Rs2.9million funds for the treatment of children of cops.
According to a Punjab Police spokesperson, Rs1million was given for bone marrow transplant of son of Constable Muhammad Bota, Rs500,000 for the treatment of brain tumor of 5-year-old daughter of Toba Tek Singh Inspector Ali Nadeem, Rs500,000 for cancer treatment of four-year-old daughter of Senior Traffic Warden Yasir Jamil, Rs400,000 for the treatment of 10-year-old daughter of PHP Constable Khalid Naseem, Rs250,000 each for Sargodha Lady Sub-Inspector Hadiya Sami for treatment of her daughter and Constable Nasir Hussain for the treatment of her 4-year-old daughter and Rs35,000 for the treatment of the daughter of Traffic Warden Ajmal Ali.
The IGP released the funds after the scrutiny and approval of the Welfare Management Committee.
Meanwhile, the screening of an animated cartoon film was organised for the children of cops at the Central Police Office school on Saturday.
According to the Punjab Police spokesperson, a large number of children enjoyed the film “The Lion King”.
