The Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of the Karachi police has claimed arrest of two suspects, including a woman, during a raid in the Malir area on Friday.
According to an SIU spokesperson, the two suspects were arrested during an operation launched against interprovincial drug dealers in District Malir of Karachi. It has been revealed that the arrested individuals had been imprisoned multiple times in the past for drug-related cases. The suspects were identified as Irfan Ahmed, son of Qurban Ali, and Zarina, wife of Liaquat Ali, daughter of Faiz.
The arrested suspects were found possessing two packets of heroin, each weighing 400 grammes. During the interrogation, the suspects confessed to collaborating with other accomplices to procure drugs from various regions across the country and supply them within Karachi. A case has been registered against them under the Narcotics Control (Amended) Act 2022. Further investigation is under way.
