FIA arrests five human traffickers

GUJRANWALA: The FIA teams have arrested five human traffickers in Gujranwala and Gujrat. The arrested individuals include Farooq, Nazakat Ali, M Asif and Adnan Ali. They were involved in illegally sending people abroad.

DC VISITS SUNDAS FOUNDATION: Deputy Commissioner Naveed Ahmed visited Sundas Foundation where he met children suffering from thalassemia and hemophilia. He interacted with them and obtained information from the foundation regarding the health facilities and reviewed the services provided for their rehabilitation. Naveed Ahmed inspected the state-of-the-art laboratory and said that Sundas Foundation is an exemplary institution that is providing quality services to patients through modern facilities.

He held a meeting with the Chairman of the Foundation, Haji Sarfaraz, and discussed challenges facing the institution. Haji Sarfaraz said that the institution does not need cash but needs support for the provision of blood bags and medicines. He emphasized that these items are crucial to saving the lives of thalassemia and hemophilia patients. The Deputy Commissioner commended the services of the Foundation.

MC EMPLOYEES PROTEST AGAINST PENSION, LEAVE ENCASHMENT CUTS: The Municipal Corporation (MC) employees protested strongly by wearing black armbands against the government’s changes to pension rules and leave encashment. They closed all Municipal Corporation offices, took to GT Road, and shouted slogans. Protesters expressed their discontent by beating their chests and condemning the Punjab government’s actions. They demanded an immediate withdrawal of the changes to pension rules, warning that local government employees across Punjab would be compelled to lock their offices. Naseeruddin Humayun Malik, Central General Secretary of All Pakistan Local Government Workers Federation, addressed the employees, stating that unless the Punjab government repealed the laws against employees, the local government system across Punjab would be paralyzed.

MAN SHOT DEAD: A man was shot dead by unknown assailants at Nowshera Virkan. Zahid Mehmood, a resident of village Gohri, was on his way home when three armed men opened fire on him, resulting in his death at the scene. Police have initiated investigation.
