ATC rejects police investigation
Attack occurred on October 14, 2024, in riverine (kacha) area of Ghotki district
KARACHI: An Anti-Terrorism Court, Mirpur Mathelo, district Ghotki rejected the Police investigation into the attack on former MPA Shehryar Shar and the murder of his companion, Ali Muhammad Shar and others.
The investigation officer Inspector Ahmed Ali Halipoto, presented the final charge sheet in the court which excluded the names of Ahmed Khan Seelro and former SHO Shakoor Lakho.
Halipoto informed the court that forensic reports and the investigation did not support the evidence of their involvement thereby, leading to the removal of their names from the case.
The attack occurred on October 14, 2024, in the riverine (kacha) area of the Ghotki district, resulting in the deaths of two close associates of Sardar Shar, Ali Muhammad Shar, and a hardened criminal Umar Shar, and injuries to Jan Mohammad Bugti and Sohrab Shar. Police official Shakoor Lakho of Ghotki police was arrested in connection with the attack.
The FIR of the incident was lodged on October 16, 2024, by Mumtaz Ali Shar, brother of the deceased Ali Muhammad Shar.
