Bus policy to curb smog: Schools ordered to adhere to court orders
LAHORE:Secretary School Education Department (SED) Punjab Khalid Nazeer Wattoo has directed the private school owners to strictly adhere to the court orders, warning that any negligence in this regard would not be tolerated by the department.
Secretary SED Punjab issued these directions on Tuesday while chairing a meeting of private schools owners on the transport issue.
The meeting was convened to discuss the implementation of Lahore High Court orders regarding the provision of bus services by educational institutions. During the meeting, some school owners raised concerns over certain issues.
Addressing the meeting, Wattoo emphasised that the SED was bound to comply with the court’s directives and would take all necessary measures to ensure their implementation. He stated that private schools must provide bus facilities to students under all circumstances and that there would be no compromise on the fitness of these buses. Wattoo further highlighted the importance of measures to control smog in light of the court’s directives.
