Ali double ton puts Lahore in command
KARACHI: Ali Zaryab’s unbeaten double century powered Lahore Whites to a commanding 163-run first-innings lead over Sialkot on day three of their Quaid-e-Azam Trophy triangular stage match at National Bank Stadium Sunday.
Resuming at 240-2, Lahore amassed 628-9 by stumps, built around left-handed opener Zaryab’s masterful 202 not out. His 357-ball innings, including 23 boundaries, marked his second first-class double hundred. At stumps, Lahore Whites were 628 for nine in 148 overs.
Obaid Shahid provided strong support with an attacking 121 off 154 balls with 16 fours, while Tayyab Tahir contributed a brisk 47. Sialkot’s Shahzaib Bhatti claimed four wickets and captain Amad Butt took two, but they couldn’t prevent Lahore from building a substantial lead.
