Differences appear in PSP over election process
MULTAN: Differences have appeared in the leadership of Pakistan Seraiki Party as the party founders and other old members have rejected intra-party elections by saying that the whole election process is bogus and engineered. The renegades have formed Pakistan Saraiki Party (Haqeeqi) and announced continuing struggle for the establishment of Saraiki province.
Talking to journalists here, PSP secretary general Akbar Ansari advocate, deputy secretary general Malik Javed Channar advocate, PSP head of Lawyers Wing Malik Naeem Iqbal advocate and Ehsan Khan said alleged that the intra-party elections conducted by the PSP were bogus and fake and they did not accept them.
They claimed that the elections were against the party constitution and the Election Act 2017 and Election Commission of Pakistan rules and regulations. They said that the members of the National Council had not been invited for the electoral process. A few people who were sitting privately there and they did not have any connection with the party participated in the bogus election process, they added.
Nominations of central office-bearers had been made in the presence of unconcerned people, they blamed. The PSP secretary general did not convene a party meeting of the National Council, they told.
Similarly, Malik Javed Chanar, deputy secretary general, Malik Naeem Iqbal advocate and Dera Ghazi Khan divisional president and office-bearers from all districts also rejected the election process of intra-party elections. They rejected the nomination of non-political person Malik Allah Nawaz Wains as president and Khalil Bukhari as secretary general of the PSP. The office-bearers of the PSP (Haqeeqi) would be announced after mutual consultation of all senior office-bearers and district and divisional office-bearers, they informed.
On the occasion, senior office-bearers nominated Muhammad Akbar Ansari advocate as Chairman of the PSP (Haqeeqi), Malik Javed Chanar advocate as secretary general and Malik Naeem Iqbal advocate as central president of Lawyers Wing and Ehsan Khan as central chief organiser.
