Second annual matric exams to begin on January 1
The Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) on Thursday announced that the second annual matriculation examinations would start on January 1. They will be held in two shifts: from 9:30am to 12:30pm, and from 2:30pm to 5:30pm.
Science and general group regular and private students will be issued their admit cards soon. The schedule of the papers for both shifts is as follows. January 1 (first shift): Islamic studies / ethics for science and general group.
January 2 (first shift): theoretical biology (paper I), computer studies (paper I), general science (paper I); (second shift): commercial geography, geography (optional), clothing and paper weaving (paper I).
January 3 (first shift): Urdu (normal), Sindhi (normal), English literature, geography of Pakistan (paper I) for science and general group. January 4 (first shift): mathematics (paper II) for science group; (second shift): commercial geography, geography (optional), clothing and paper weaving (paper II).
January 6 (first shift): theoretical chemistry (paper I), Islamic studies (paper I), history of Islam (paper I), economics (paper I), management of correctional institutions (paper I) for girls. January 7 (first shift): theoretical physics (paper V). January 8 (second shift): mathematics (paper II) for general group regular and private.
January 9 (first shift): English (paper I) for science and general group, theoretical chemistry (paper II), Islamic studies (paper II), history of Islam (paper II), economics (paper II), management of correctional institutions (paper II) for regular and private.
January 10 (second shift): physical education and hygiene (paper I), civics (paper I), history of Pakistan and India (paper I), food and nutrition (paper I), computer studies (optional) theoretical (paper I).
January 11 (first shift): mathematics (paper I) for general group, biology theoretical (paper II), computer studies theoretical (paper II) for science group), general science (paper II); (afternoon shift): Arabic (paper I), art and model drawing theoretical (paper I), braille theoretical (paper I), Persian (paper I), household calculations and related problems (paper I) for girls regular and private.
January 12 (first shift): English (paper II) for science and general group; (afternoon shift): physical education and health care (paper II), citizenship (paper II), history of Pakistan and India (paper II), food and nutrition, computer studies (optional) theoretical (paper II) for regular and private.
January 13 (first shift): Sindhi for science and general group, Urdu for science group, Urdu (alternative course) for Sindhi, science (compulsory), geography of Pakistan (paper II); (second shift): Urdu literature (optional) (paper I), Sindhi literature (optional) (paper I), English literature (optional) (paper I), art and model drawing practical (paper I).
January 14 (first shift): Pakistan studies for science and general group; (second shift): Urdu literature (optional) (paper II), Sindhi literature (optional) (paper II), English literature (optional) (paper II), art and model drawing practical (paper II).
January 15 (first shift): mathematics (paper I) for science group; (second shift): geometrical and technical drawing (paper I), child development and family life (paper I), art and model drawing practical (paper I).
January 16 (first shift): theoretical physics (paper I); (second shift): geometrical and technical drawing (paper II), child development and family life (paper II), art and model drawing theoretical (paper II).
January 17 (first shift): for regular and private candidates, Arabic (paper II), art and model drawing theoretical (paper II), braille theoretical (paper II), Persian (paper II), household calculations and related problems (paper II) for girls.
