QAU confers degrees on 3,188 graduates at convocation
Islamabad:A total of 3,188 graduates including 208 Ph.D, 1,734 M.Phil and 1,246 BS were conferred degrees in the 11th convocation of Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU) here on Thursday. Federal Minister of Education Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Pro-Chancellor, Quaid-i-Azam University awarded the degrees and medals to graduates.
While addressing the convocation, the Federal Minister extended heartfelt congratulations to the graduates, their parents, and teachers on this momentous occasion. He emphasised the need for a fresh perspective in reviewing and shaping educational policies to meet evolving challenges. Appreciating the students who received the medals, the minister remarked, "These medals are a badge of honour, symbolising the nation's pride in its future leaders. He said that education is the only way which gives us every level of freedom. The minister also commended the graduates for being part of Quaid-i-Azam University, the top-ranked educational institution in Pakistan. "I assure the Government of continuous support to the higher education sector in general and Quaid-i-Azam University in particular for the promotion of research and human resource development" he added.
The Vice Chancellor of QAU, Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmed Akhtar, congratulated the graduating students on their remarkable achievement. He highlighted the university's significant strides in academic excellence, stating, "AU has earned notable recognition on the international stage. It is ranked as the number one educational institution in Pakistan, 84th in Asia, 9th in South Asia, and 315th globally."
The vice chancellor expressed optimism about the university's future, emphasizing its commitment to increasing research output, attracting international students, and enhancing its global standing.
