KARACHI: Shan Foods, a leading Pakistani food company, has partnered with SHINE Humanity to enhance healthcare access and affordability in Kunri, Sindh.
This collaboration aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being and is an integral part of Shan Foods’ ‘Growing Flavour’ initiative. This initiative focuses on building a sustainable agricultural hub in Asia’s largest red chili production site.
According to a press release, over the past three years, Shan Foods has implemented a comprehensive development plan in Kunri. This plan includes training on sustainable farming practices, providing quality seeds and creating trade opportunities to improve livelihoods. By partnering with SHINE Humanity, the company is now expanding its efforts to include healthcare services for underprivileged communities.
“We aim to improve not only farming practices but also the overall quality of life for Kunri’s residents through accessible healthcare,” said Co-Chairwoman of Shan Foods Sammer Sultan. Faheem Khan, COO of SHINE Humanity, discussed the significance of this partnership: “Together, we strive to uplift the health and well-being of Kunri’s rural communities, ensuring they receive the care and dignity they deserve.”This initiative will provide healthcare to approximately 1,000 underserved individuals.
