Naeem demands single education system for all Pakistanis
Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Emir Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has demanded a uniform education system for all the 250 million Pakistanis.
Addressing thousands of students who appeared in an aptitude test for the JI’s Bano Qabil 4.0 programme in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, he said 60 per cent of the Pakistani population was in the age bracket of less than 30 years.
Against this backdrop, he said the youth should channelise their energies for the betterment of the country instead of inclining towards mass exodus.
He highlighted the huge potential in the information technology-based exports and said that the Bano Qabil programme would be a game changer in this regard.
During the past couple of years, over 48,000 students had completed the Bano Qabil courses, he said, adding that the JI was also playing an active role in facilitating the Bano Qabil graduates in their job hunt.
On the occasion, he announced that 10,000 laptops would be distributed among the Bano Qabil graduates in the first phase on the basis of their performance, so then could start earning a livelihood.
He urged the youth in general and Karachiites in
particular to fight for their due rights and get rid of the dishonest rulers.
Karachi JI Emir Monem Zafar also addressed the participants. He said the youth were being misled about the future of Pakistan. He urged them not to get distracted by propaganda and serve their motherland.
Educationist and former State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) governor Dr Ishrat Husain hailed the role of the JI emir and his team in connection with the Bano Qabil programme.
He shed light in detail on the future aspects of the IT sector and urged the Karachi youth to take maximum benefit from the Bano Qabil programme.
The former SBP chairman was of the view that skills, not degrees, were mandatory to excel in IT sector.
Alkhidmat CEO Naveed Ali Baig informed the event Bano Qabil had already established two incubators in Karachi to facilitate its graduates.
