ISLAMABAD: The number of pending cases in the Supreme Court (SC) has reduced from 60,000 to 58,487. On Monday, the SC issued a report of pending cases from November 16 to 30. According to the report, 674 cases were disposed of in the last 15 days. There are 31,458 civil cases and 10,000 criminal cases pending in the court, along with 208 appeals. Similarly, there are some 18 suo moto notice cases, 2,209 civil revision petitions, 136 HR cell petitions, while 3,251 jail petitions are pending in the apex court. At the time of Justice Faez Isa’s retirement, the number of pending cases in the Supreme Court had exceeded 60,000.
