BARA: Two children were killed and four others sustained injuries when mortar shells exploded near them in the Tirah Valley, Bara Tehsil, Khyber tribal district, on Wednesday, local and official sources said.
They said that six students of the Government Primary School, Hasham Khan Killay, were going home after taking classes in Bar Qambarkhel in the Tirah Valley when unidentified persons fired mortar shells from nearby mountains that exploded near them.
As a result, two students, identified as Abidullah and his sister Kulsoom, died on the spot.
Four other students sustained injuries in the incident. The injured students were shifted to a hospital in Peshawar.
