ISLAMABAD: Amid reports of rifts within the party ranks, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Secretary General Salman Akram Raja Friday removed advocate Faisal Chaudhry from the cases concerning the PTI founder chairman Imran Khan.

According to party sources, the media talk of Faisal after having met Imran Khan in Adiala Jail the other day, proved to be the decisive factor in his removal from the PTI legal team. Sources claimed the 9th May incidents, D Chowk protests, PTI’s position on the 26th constitutional amendment has been the major factors in creating divisions in the party ranks besides elevation of certain lawyers to key positions.

Party sources said Faisal’s unnecessary talk to media outside the jail resulted in his removal from the party’s different WhatsApp groups. Faisal told Geo News that he had been punished for telling the whole truth to the PTI’s founder during the recent meeting. Both the PTI secretary general and advocate Faisal were not available for their comment on the development despite repeated efforts.
