Sindh police hint at taking action after cop manhandled in Islamabad
DIG Faizullah Karejo, chief of the Police Training Branch in Sindh, on Monday issued notices after a video went viral showing a Sindh police constable being manhandled in Islamabad.
Officials stated that the constable had travelled to Islamabad to attend the Eagle Course, which he had successfully completed. DIG Karejo emphasised that no one was permitted to raise their hands against another individual, highlighting the importance of adhering to the code of conduct.
“The police force is a disciplined uniformed body, and following rules and regulations is our top priority,” Karejo noted. He condemned the act of insulting and disrespecting police officers, stating that such behavior — including slapping and ridicule — couldn’t be tolerated.
DIG Karejo confirmed that the Sindh Police reserved the right to investigate and take departmental action regarding the incident. A thorough investigation was currently underway, led by the relevant commandant in Islamabad, and instructions had been issued for a show-cause notice.
