Nation wants end to injustice, corruption: Siraj
KARACHI: Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Siraj-ul Haq has said that the nation wants an end to the corruption of kings and queens, adding that if we want to see this nation progress and flourishing we must build a society that was free of corruption and based on social justice.
Talking to the media at the end of the train march of his party, he said the people from Peshawar to Karachi have welcomed their anti-corruption march, warning that the days of the corruption mafia in Pakistan were numbered. Siraj-ul Haq said that Pakistan has been in the strong clutch of corrupt people since independence. He said the time for accountability of our corrupt rulers has now started.
He said the cruel system of capitalism and corruption have ruined our homeland. The JI chief said now the masses of Pakistan were fed up with the corrupt politicians and a new culture of the rule of just and equality was about to start. He said that hunger and poverty in Pakistan were the direct consequences of corruption. To end hunger and poverty, we have to end corruption, he added. He said injustice to the society was on the rise and the poor were getting poorer while the rich richer. He said the successive corrupt regimes have even put Pakistan's sovereignty at stake for their vested interests.
He demanded a probe into the death of around 150 children of Thar, who died due to hunger, malnutrition and lack of medical facilities.
He said the western countries were providing safe havens, like Panama, to corrupt politicians from the entire world. He said that the international powers themselves were promoting corruption in the developing countries to keep them poor and backward.
He said that the nation wants strict accountability of corrupt leaders. Siraj-ul Haq said that masses would reject any toothless commission against corruption. The JI chief warned the regime that people would take to the streets in Islamabad, if hurdles were created in the accountability process.
