Increasing influence of social media: Pakistanis less worried than others in world, says Gallup
But in Middle East, 57 percent are concerned about increasing intrusion of social media on their lives
ISLAMABAD: Majority of the people in Pakistan are of the opinion that social media is not influencing their lives.
This opinion is completely in contrast to the public opinion found at the global level, a survey conducted by Gallup Pakistan and World Wide Independent Network in 39 countries of the world, including Pakistan, has revealed.
In the survey, on the question whether social media has dominated the lives too much, 31 percent in Pakistan responded in the affirmative. On the question that influence has increased on lives 38 percent replied in the negative, 21 percent gave an average opinion while 11 percent did not answer this question.
If the opinion of Pakistanis is compared with the overall opinion obtained from 39 countries found at the global level, 50 percent expressed concern over the increasing influence of social media on their lives.
But in the Middle East, 57 percent are concerned about the increasing intrusion of social media on their lives.
