44,830 drug peddlers held in eight months

LAHORE:According to Punjab Police spokesperson, police have arrested 44,830 suspects involved in drug peddling and booked 44,767 of them so far since the start of this year.
The spokesperson said the police seized 31,628 kg charas, 725 kg heroin, 1,137 kg opium, 314 kg ice, and over 737,000 litre liquor from the accused. Additionally, 1,240 people were admitted to rehabilitation facilities for treatment. The spokesperson said in Lahore 7,347 raids were conducted and 7,576 suspects were arrested and 7,347 were booked and 5,487 kg charas, 285 kg opium, 132 kg ice were recovered from the accused.
