Punjab CM takes notice of kite string injury incident, seeks report from IGP
CM directed relevant authorities to provide best medical treatment facilities to injured motorcyclist and children
LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif took notice of a motorcyclist being injured due to a kite string in Kahna here on Sunday and sought a report from the Inspector General of Police (IGP) in the matter.
The chief minister directed the relevant authorities to provide the best medical treatment facilities to the injured motorcyclist and children.
Meanwhile, the chief minister expressed her best wishes for cancer patients and prayed for their speedy recovery in her message on the World Rose Day, a day dedicated to the welfare of cancer patients. She said, “Indeed brave people are fighting cancer. May Allah grant complete recovery to every cancer patient.”
She said Nawaz Sharif was establishing the first government-level cancer hospital in Lahore. “We are committed to the treatment and care of cancer patients. We are doing our best to provide free and quality treatment to every cancer patient. A special center for cancer treatment will be established in every district of Punjab.”
In her message for the MDCAT candidates, the Punjab CM said hard work never goes in vain, you will be successful, God willing. The chief minister directed authorities concerned to ensure best arrangements in examination centers across Punjab. She also directed them to strictly monitor the security of examination centers. “Candidates of MDCAT should not face any problem during the exam.”
The CM Punjab, while chairing a special meeting to review recommendations for transforming agriculture in Punjab, said, “Vegetable farmer groups consisting of 5 to 10 farmers will be given subsidy on seeds, fertilizers, drip irrigation and solarization.”
She added, “By launching a project for the cultivation of onion and tomato on 2,000 acres, the local availability of onion and tomato will be ensured.” She noted, “Due to off-season cultivation, there will be no artificial inflation as onion and tomato will be available locally in Punjab for 6 months.”
Earlier, the chief minister was briefed by the relevant authorities that off-season tomato cultivation plan was arranged in Kahrupka, Rahim Yar Khan, Vehari and Rajanpur; while onion cultivation plan was arranged in Khushab, Chakwal, Pindi and Jhelum.
She approved a plan to start agricultural machinery rental services across Punjab for the convenience of farmers. “Tractors, harvesters and other modern agricultural machinery will be available on rent to farmers on a No-Profit, No-Loss basis.”
A joint working group was formed for the selection of more than 67 locations and agricultural machinery. She also directed the authorities concerned to ensure sowing of wheat on government land.
