Campaign launched to introduce students to animation
In an effort to introduce pupils to the world of animation and inspire young minds to pursue a career in the field, the makers of ‘The Glassworker’, Pakistan’s first-ever hand-drawn animated feature film, have taken their beautiful creation to schools.
A campaign titled ‘The Glassworker School Tour’ has been launched in Karachi. As part of the campaign, film director Usman Riaz on Wednesday visited two schools, where he screened the film’s trailer and interacted with students.
Riaz took the attendees on a journey through the making of the film, giving them a glimpse into the creative process and different stages of production that had brought ‘The Glassworker’ to life.
He said the campaign is aimed at promoting the animation industry in Pakistan.
“The new generation is interested in animation, and likes this industry, but they’re unaware of the stages of its production, so I want to fully educate them about animation to increase their interest in this industry further.”
He also said they are considering launching a similar campaign in Lahore. After the trailer’s screening and the Q&A session, film merchandise was distributed among the students, who evinced great enthusiasm for animation and made the commitment to watch the film on the big screen.
Created by Mano Animation Studios and presented by Geo Films, ‘The Glassworker’ was released in various cinemas across the country under the banner of Geo Films and Mandviwalla Entertainment. Since its release the animated film has garnered widespread acclaim and strong box office numbers.
