Prof Asif Bashir made honorary life member of Society of Neurological Surgeons

Professor Dr Asif Bashir has been honoured as a lifetime member by the USA Society of Neurological Surgeons (SNS) of Neurosurgery Chairs.

It is the highest honour any neurosurgeon can strive to achieve. Dr. Bashir’s election took place during a voting held at the Cornell University Sloan Kettering New York, presided over by Harvard University chair Prof Antonio Chiocca.

This prestigious selection is a testament to Dr Bashir's exceptional contributions to the field of academic neurosurgery that places him amongst the elite neurosurgeons worldwide.

In Pakistan, Dr Bashir is one of only two neurosurgeons certified as Diplomate American Board, making his election to this century-old Cushing’s Senior society comprising heads of top universities, institutions including Harvard, Mayo Clinic, truly an exceptional honor for the nation.

Dr Bashir is currently serving as the chair of Neurosurgery & Executive Director/dean at the Punjab Institute of Neurosciences (PINS) LGH Lahore. His leadership and dedication have significantly advanced the field of neurosurgery & minimally invasive spine surgery in Pakistan and his contributions have been recognised at the highest levels, including being awarded the prestigious medal Tamgha-e-Imtiaz by the President of Pakistan for his outstanding services in medicine.

The Society of Neurological Surgeons, one of the oldest and most respected organisations in the world, counts Dr Bashir’s membership as a significant accolade, not just for him, but for the entire country.
