49 illegal gas connections severed
LAHORE:Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) has ramped up its crackdown on gas theft, resulting in the disconnection of 49 illegal connections across Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP), and Islamabad. According to a spokesperson for the gas utility, the crackdown has led to fines totaling Rs0.58 million.
In Lahore, 24 illegal connections were terminated. Multan saw 14 disconnections. The Faisalabad team cut off two illegal connections and imposed Rs0.04 million fines.
In Bahawalpur, two illegal connections and one compressor connection were terminated. The Gujranwala team disconnected two illegal connections and imposed fines of Rs0.14 million. In Mardan, three illegal connections were cut off with Rs0.03m fines. Sheikhupura had one illegal connection terminated, with fine amounting to Rs0.37 million.
