Cop tortures man, deprives him of cash
LAHORE:A citizen allegedly was tortured and falsely implicated in a case by a sub inspector of Harbanspura Police. A medico legal report confirmed the torture and recommended a legal action under Section of 337-L of Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).
The victim Zulqarnain Arain lodging a complaint before SSP Discipline and Inquiry Lahore said that there was a dispute between the two groups of youth in his neighbourhood. His son was also involved in it but he was at work when both groups confronted each other and the police took both group members to police station. An SI Rafaqat Dogar summoned Zulqarnain through a call. When he reached there, Dogar started beating him with a pipe. He also undressed him and withdrew over Rs10,000 from his wallet and forced him to bring more money from home which he did. As the victim was released, he went for a medico legal examination that proved torture. The victim has lodged a complaint before SSP Discipline and Inquiry who said that he was investigating the matter and would take action according to law.
