Two drown in Khanpur Dam

HARIPUR: Two persons, including a minor boy, drowned near Khanpur dam, police said on Saturday.
The deceased were uncle and nephew. Khanpur police quoted eyewitnesses as saying that the man and a minor boy were bathing downstream of Khanpur reservoir near Tarnava bridge when the minor boy slipped into deep water.
In a bid to rescue the boy, the young man jumped into water, but he also drowned.
The local divers recovered the bodies and shifted them to Khanpur hospital where the deceased were identified as Faheem Ahmed, 38, a resident of Toba Tek Singh, and his nephew Muhammad Ibrahim, 7.
