LANDIKOTAL: District Police Officer (DPO) Salim Abbas Kulachi has revealed that despite extensive investigations, the Khyber police have not yet found any substantial leads in the murder case of journalist Khalil Jibran.

Speaking to journalists at Shakas Police Lines in Khyber, the DPO stated that the investigation team has so far questioned 14 suspects but has yet to uncover any definitive clues pointing to the perpetrators behind the assassination.

“We have not reached a conclusion about the actual identity of the assailants,” the official said.“The issue is of a grave nature, and the police are working in close coordination with other law enforcement agencies to make a breakthrough,” he added.

Salim Abbas expressed optimism about identifying the attackers, noting that police had increased patrolling in the area where Jibran was killed on June 18. He also mentioned that another suspect is set to be questioned, which could potentially lead to the identification of the killers. He highlighted that the increased police patrolling has helped alleviate fear among residents and enhanced public trust in the police. The DPO also addressed the issue of threatening letters sent to some policemen, local elders, and at least four journalists.
