13 arrested in journalist’s murder case: official
LANDIKOTAL: Around 13 suspects have been arrested as part of the investigation into the murder case of journalist Khalil Jibran in Khyber district, a senior officer said on Wednesday.
Speaking to journalists, District Police Officer Saleem Abbas Kulachi said that while the suspects have been arrested, there was no concrete clue regarding the identification of the killers so far.
He added that although no FIR of the snooker club being torched was registered with the police, they had collected DVR footage, samples of broken glasses, handwritten pamphlets and other evidence from the site.
Local sources said that district administration and security officials were contemplating the installation of closed-circuit cameras at suitable places around the Mazreena area where Khalil had been murdered, while check-posts would also be established at Sultankhel market to keep an eye on the movements of undesirable elements.
