14 clerics’ entry into City banned
LAHORE:The Lahore Deputy Commissioner Tuesday banned 14 religious leaders from entering, residing or remaining in the revenue limits of the district Lahore for a period of 60 days with effect from 1st Muharram-ul-Harram. The banned leaders are of different religious groups.
The DC said, she banned the religious leaders in exercise of the powers conferred upon her under Section 5 of the West Pakistan Maintenance of Public Order Ordinance, 1960, read with Section of the Punjab Maintenance of Public Order (Amendment) Ordinance, 2017 and on the recommendation of District Intelligence Committee in its meeting held on June 25, 2024. The banned religious figures include Zakir Shehanshah Hussain, Zakir Asif Raza, Ali Nasir, Syed llyas Raza, Allama Syed Sabtain, Zakir Atta Hussain, Azhar Abbas Haideri, Agha Syed Sabtain Haider, Zakir Waseem Abbas, Habib Ullah, Illyas Ghuman, Muhammad Ahmad Ludhianvi, M Nawaz Baloch and Manzoor Ahmad.
