Inter admissions to be made on basis of Grade 9 results
Due to the delay in the release of matriculation results by the education boards of Sindh, the Intermediate first year admissions to government colleges will be given on the basis of the results of class IX instead of the aggregate matriculation results.
The forms for college admissions will be submitted online. The admissions will start on July 1 and continue till July 25, said Sindh Colleges Director General (DG) Prof Zahid Rajpar. He said the admissions of students with A and A1 grades would be made on an open merit basis while the admissions of students with B, C and E grades would be made on the basis of zone.
He added that admissions would also be made to two new colleges in Karachi, including a boys college that has been opened in Sector 45 near Korangi 5 where Sabir Hussain Soomro has been appointed as the principal and another boys college in Gulshan-e-Hadeed working in the afternoon shift where Didar Ali Jafari has been appointed as the principal.
Prof Rajpar said 267,877 Intermediate admissions would be given across Sindh. In Karachi, 27,900 admissions would be in pre-medical, 25,400 in pre-engineering, 15,315 in computer science, 18,238 in arts, 31,096 commerce and 1,712 admissions in home economics.
The colleges DG said Intermediate first year classes would start on August 1. In response to a question, he said that to avoid high temperatures, the government may hold matric exams in March next year and Intermediate exams in April. He clarified that the steering committee would give final approval in this regard.
