Milk to sell at Rs220 per litre as Rs20 increase announced
Karachi Commissioner Syed Hasan Naqvi has announced a new official milk price of Rs220 per litre, which shows a Rs20 increase from the current price of Rs200.
According to a notification issued by the commissioner’s office, the new price has been issued with the agreement of the Farmers’ Association, Wholesalers’ Association, and Retailers’ Association officials. Consumer representatives were also part of this decision.
Commissioner Naqvi said that the price increase is conditional upon the assurance that the milk would be free from any kind of adulteration. Earlier, the commissioner held a meeting, which included deputy commissioners, farmers, wholesalers, retailers, and consumer representatives.
During the meeting, it was promised that a campaign would be launched against all types of milk adulteration. The aim is to ensure the supply of high-quality milk to consumers. Any violations will be stopped, reported to the administration, and actions will be taken with the administration’s assistance. The representatives from the milk associations provided written assurances that they would comply with all the conditions set.
