Pakistan to face India in Asian Squash Team C’ship semis

KARACHI: Pakistan defeated Iraq 2-0 in the quarter-finals to set up semi-final clash against India in the men’s team event of 18th Asian Squash Team Championships in Chinese Taipei.
After topping the group B, second seeds Pakistan faced ninth seed Iraq on Friday.
Farhan Zaman beat Husham Abdulkareem Sabeh 12-10, 11-5, 11-8, while Tayyab Aslam defeated Mohammed Ferman Hasan 11-1, 13-11, 11-9.
The third match between Farhan Mehboob and Rassol Alsultani was not played.
Pakistan got six match points by defeating Sri Lanka 3-0 and Singapore 3-0 in pool matches.
A total of 14 teams are participating in the championship.
The other semi-final is scheduled to be played between top seeds Hong Kong and fifth seeds Japan.
