Imran moves LHC against Punjab cabinet for approving cases against him, others
PTI founder has named Punjab government, IGP, Punjab Interior Ministry and others as respondents
LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has challenged in Lahore High Court (LHC) approval by the Punjab government to register grave cases against him.
The PTI founder has filed a petition in LHC through Latif Khosa advocate making Punjab government Inspector General of Police (IGP), Punjab Interior Ministry and others as respondents.
The petition said Imran Khan is a former prime minister and a respectable citizen. The PTI founder is imprisoned in Adiala jail in different cases. The Punjab government gave approval to register grave cases against Imran Khan and other leadership of the PTI. This move of Punjab government is a violation of Article 10 of the Constitution.
Imran Khan has requested the court through the petition to nullify the step of Punjab government regarding approval of registration of grave cases.
It is pertinent to mention here the cabinet of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz gave approval on May 25 for registration of more cases against PTI founder and other leaders of PTI for launching a hate campaign against the army and other institutions.
