ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has decided to close the inquiry of wheat and flour scam of previous provincial government of the PMLN in Punjab regarding the Food department of Punjab and transferred the case to Punjab’s Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) for inquiry.
According to sources, the approval for the closing of inquiry of wheat and flour scam of the previous government of the PMLN in Punjab, was taken in the recent meeting of the Executive Board of the NAB.
Sources said the approval to close the investigation on the basis of the NAB (Amendment) Act, 2022 and under this act the Executive Committee of the NAB’s recommended to transfer the investigation of this matter to Anti-Corruption Punjab.
Sources said the NAB was investigating the corruption of millions of rupees in the food department of Punjab and also investigating, the case of stealing thousands of sacks of wheat. However, efforts were made to get the views of the NAB but the NAB did not respond the query.
