LAHORE:A review meeting of the Punjab Health Reforms Programme was held under the chairmanship of Health Ministers Khawaja Imran Nazir and Khawaja Salman Rafique.

Both the ministers were apprised of the health projects undertaken on the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. Addressing the meeting, Khawaja Imran said the CM has directed that continuous monitoring of field hospitals and medicines be done. The pace rehabilitation of 2,500 basic health centres and 300 rural health centres should be accelerated, he maintained.

The minister said the necessary resources will be provided to make hepatitis and TB clinics more efficient. Imran Nazir said the lady health workers, lady health visitors and lady health supervisors have key role in the success of the vertical programmes. He said the progress and results of the Punjab Health Reforms Programme will be reviewed every week. On the occasion, Khawaja Salman said the process of providing clinics on wheels and medicines to people's homes has been accelerated. He said the CM is committed to the early completion of all health projects. Health Secretary Ali Jan Khan gave a briefing on the progress of Punjab Health Reforms Programme. Special Secretary Muhammad Iqbal, P.D. IRMNCH Dr Khalil Sakhani, CEO PHFMC Dr Asim Altaf and Additional Secretaries also attended the meeting.
