Hot weather likely to persist

LAHORE:MET office Thursday predicted partly cloudy and hot weather in the city for the next 24 hours. The MET officials said continental air was prevailing over most parts of the country. A shallow westerly wave is likely to enter western parts of Balochistan and is likely to affect upper parts of the country on Friday.
Rain-windstorm/thunderstorm is likely at isolated places of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, north Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir and Pothohar region. However, gusty winds/windstorms are likely in south Punjab and upper Sindh. The maximum temperature on Thursday was recorded at 42 degrees Centigrade at Mithi and 34.2 degrees Centigrade at Lahore.
