A motorcyclist was killed and around 11 others, including women and children, were wounded in two road accidents in the Clifton neighbourhood on Wednesday.

A speeding car ran over a man named Abdullah, causing him to lose his life on the spot. The incident took place near the Abdullah Shah Ghazi shrine. The responsible driver fled the scene but he was apprehended by the police later, and the vehicle was impounded.

According to police sources, the car has a government licence plate. The deceased man was identified as Naeem, a resident of Neelum Colony in Clifton, who worked at a mall. His body was taken to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre.

In another accident near the Abdullah Shah Ghazi shrine, eleven individuals, including women and children, were injured after a speeding car got out of control and climbed onto the footpath. Eyewitnesses reported that the driver of the car attempted to save an oncoming vehicle, leading to the accident. Among the injured, some were pedestrians, while others were labourers. Some sustained minor injuries and were immediately released after medical treatment, while five others were receiving medical treatment at the hospital. The police said that both vehicles involved in the accidents were impounded, and the drivers were also arrested. Cases have been registered, and further investigations are underway.
