HYDERABAD: Hyderabad Range DIG Tariq Razak Dharejo has issued orders to nine SSPs of the range to maintain law and order in their respective districts on the occasion of Eidul Fitr, and protect the lives and properties of the residents.

The DIG ordered the SSPs concerned to provide foolproof security to the major mosques, Imambargahs, Jamaat Khanas, Eidgahs and open spaces where Eid prayers would be held in their respective districts.

He also ordered that the police should ensure security at all the public places, including shopping centres, Eid Bachat Bazaars, railway stations and bus terminals.

He stressed on forming surveillance teams at police station level, and issued directives to increase the number of police personnel in and around shopping malls, crowded public places and entertainment places.

He also ordered the SSPs to keep a close watch on suspicious persons and objects, and to ensure strict surveillance of the entry and exit points of their respective districts. Dharejo directed them to set up temporary checkpoints at various places, along with patrolling on national highways for ensuring the safety of travellers during Eidul Fitr.

He told them that during the Eid holidays measures should be taken to maintain the flow of traffic. He ordered setting up a control room equipped with all the necessary facilities. He also stressed on taking action against those who indulge in the deadly one-wheeling.
