LANDIKOTAL: In a joint operation, Customs Intelligence and Frontier Corps (FC)-North arrested a suspect and recovered 115kg hashish on Monday.
Deputy Director of Customs Intelligence, Amanat Khan, stated that the operation was launched after receiving a tip-off. He said the Customs Intelligence deployed multiple teams to monitor pedestrian movement along hilly routes in the Zakhakhel area.
During surveillance, Frontier Intelligence Unit and FC-North identified four suspicious individuals in the Bazaar Zakhakhel Pastoky area, all carrying backpacks.Upon confrontation, the suspects attempted to flee, abandoning their luggage. While three managed to evade capture in the rugged terrain, one suspect, identified as Junaid Ahmed from the Tirah area of Khyber district, was apprehended by Customs and FC personnel.
Subsequent examination of the abandoned backpacks revealed 99 packets containing 115kg of high-quality hashish (charas).A first information report was lodged and investigations launched.
