PESHAWAR: Advisor to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Zakat, Ushar, Social Welfare, and Women’s Development, Mashal Azam Yousafzai, visited Mardan where she joined travelers during Iftar at the shelter in District Headquarter Hospital.

Mashal instructed the administration to establish a separate dining area for women at the shelter.

Expressing dissatisfaction with the inadequate sanitation facilities at the shelter, the chief minister’s advisor instructed authorities to improve the sanitation conditions and explore alternative locations for the shelter.

Speaking to the media, she highlighted the reactivation of shelters and Langar Khana following directives from Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur. She said special measures have been taken for Seher and Iftar arrangements during Ramazan, ensuring that travelers have access to these facilities.

In response to a question, she stated that over 800,000 families would receive Rs10,000 each by the 20th of Ramazan, with district-level committees formed to address the needs of those excluded from the Ehsaas Programme.

She reiterated the commitment to ensuring that no one went hungry or without shelter, emphasising the government’s focus on providing welfare to all citizens.

Regarding the closure of shelter employee salaries, she assured that steps were being taken to resolve the issue, and salaries would be disbursed soon.
