Navy, PMSA to continue search operation for missing fishermen
The Pakistan Navy and the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) jointly conducted a search and rescue operation for missing fishermen, said a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations on Friday.
It said that upon receipt of information about the sinking of a fishing boat near Hajambro Creek, The Pakistan Navy along with the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) initiated a joint search and rescue (SAR) operation on March 5.
The fishing boat Al-Assad with an onboard crew of 45 capsized in open sea off the Hajmbro Creek on March 5 due to the inclement weather. Upon receipt of information, the Joint Maritime Information and Coordination Centre (JMICC), through the Maritime Headquarters (MHQ), Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre and PMSA, immediately initiated a coordinated search operation through PN aircraft, helicopters, PMSA ships and boats to search for missing fishermen. The search for those missing is continuing.
The statement said the PN & PMSA platforms will continue the search operation while maintaining necessary coordination with relevant stakeholders and local administration.
