In a Friday morning shootout in the Jamshed Quarters area, District East police gunned down two notorious dacoits, known as the White Corolla Gang.
SSP Syed Irfan Ali Bahadur, head of the District East police, stated that the encounter occurred near Teen Hatti. During the exchange of fire, two suspects were apprehended with injuries and later they succumbed to their wounds at hospital.
The police had been actively pursuing the gang for several days, and on Friday morning, they received a tip-off regarding the gang’s presence in the Jamshed Quarters area. A raid was conducted, leading to the confrontation.
The deceased criminals, identified as Shahid Burger and Shahid Kale, were notorious figures, instilling fear among citizens, particularly in District East. SSP Bahadur revealed that Shahid alias Burger had been implicated in over 26 house robberies, while Shahid alias Kala had been involved in more than 10 robbery cases and had a history of incarceration.
Recent police interventions, including the arrest of associates like Imran alias Mani and Anwar, indicated the authorities’ ongoing efforts to dismantle the gang’s operations. CCTV footage from previous incidents in Al-Falah and Gulistan-e-Jauhar further corroborates their criminal activities. The gang primarily operated using White Corolla and White Honda City vehicles, and two pistols were recovered from the deceased robbers.
